EU Hands Over 42 Field Vehicles To Ethiopian Coffee And Tea Authority
The European Union, under its coffee support program named EU-Coffee Action for Ethiopia (EU-CAFE), handed over 42 field vehicles to the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA).
These are destined for distribution to 28 high potential coffee production Woredas and the coffee research system to enable proper coffee extension and research service delivery.
The ECTA will soon distribute the vehicles to four coffee growing regions including Oromia, SNNP, Sidama, Amhara and the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre (JARC).
In the past 40 years, the European Union has been supporting coffee sector development in Ethiopia with over 122 million Euro investments mainly focused on productivity, quality, marketing improvements as well as sector governance.
The driving motto remains to enable the unique Ethiopian Arabica coffee to maintain its proper place in the global coffee market.
